Penny Scheerer has summered on Nantucket with her family since 1970. She now lives on the island year-round where she is a retired attorney and past president of the Artists Association of Nantucket.
Her interest in the medium of watercolor derives from its fluidity and luminescent colors. It seems to her to be a most appropriate medium with which to capture the maritime magic of unspoiled Nantucket. The “Grey Lady”, with all its historical, nautical and natural treasures, is the perfect muse, and she hopes her paintings celebrate the essence of such a special island.
